『ネイティブへの魔法』プログラム

【12日目】つい抱いてしまうその感情はナンセンスです

hello !

Enya "Only Time"

◆Thanks so much .◆

・Thanks so much for your cooperation .

・Thanks so much for driving me .

◆I really appreciate ... (...に本当に感謝します)◆

・I really appreciate your help .

・Thanks so much for teaching me .

           I really appreciate it .

 ・Thanks so much .

I really appreciate you teaching me .

◆Excuse me .◆

・Excuse me sir , you dropped your wallet .

・Excuse me , do you know what time it is ?

◆I'm sorry . ◆

・I'm sorry for being late .

 ・I'm sorry for the mess . I wasn't expecting anyone today .

  (散らかっててごめん。今日誰かが来るとは思わなくて。)

 ・I'm really sorry I didn't notice you .

◆What do you think ? ◆

・I'm not sure if we should choice the one chocolate or strowberry.

  What do you think ?

  (チョコかイチゴ一つ選ばなきゃいけなくて、

   どっちにしたらいいか分からないの。あなたはどう思う?)

◆How does that sound ? (どうですか?)◆

・We could have dinner at 6, and

then go to a movie. How does that sound?
  (6時に夕食をして、それから映画に行こうかと思うんだけど。どうかな?)

・Let’s hire a band to play music, and

Brent can photograph the event. How does that sound?
   (音楽を演奏してくれるバンドを雇って、ブレントに

     イベントの写真を撮ってもらおうと思うんだ。どうかな?)

◆That's sounds great . (とても良いね)◆

 ”Great”は他の“awesome”、“perfect”、 “excellent”、 “fantastic”

 などの類語と交換することができます。

A: My mom is baking cookies this afternoon.

We could go to my house and eat some. How does that sound?
 (今日の午後、お母さんがクッキーを焼いてくれるんだ。

  家に一緒に行って、クッキーを食べようよ。どうかな?)

 B: That sounds fantastic!(最高だね!)

◆(Oh) never mind . (気にしないで)◆

 また”never mind”というフレーズを“it doesn’t matter”(何でもないよ)や

 “just forget it”(もう忘れて)という意味で使うこともできます。

A: Are you going to the grocery store today?
  (今日スーパー行く?)

B: No, I’m not. But why—do you need something?
  (いや、行かないよ。どうして?何か必要なの?)

A: Oh, never mind. It’s okay, I’ll go tomorrow.

◆I’m learning English.◆

My name is AIRI and I’m learning English.

◆ I don’t understand.◆

 Sorry, I don’t understand.

The U.S. Electoral College seems very confusing!

 (アメリ選挙人団はとても複雑そうですね!)

◆Could you repeat that please?◆

 Could you please repeat that?

 Could you repeat that please?

◆Could you please talk slower?◆

two five zero eight, extension three three—

◆Thank you. That helps a lot.◆

A: Ben, could you please make the font bigger?

A: Thank you. That helps a lot.

  on the other side.

wouldn’t be happier. We always think other people have better lives

◆Hi! I’m [Name]. (And you?).

    Hi! I’m Airi. And you?

◆ Nice to meet you.◆

 A: Hi Airi, I’m Chad.
B: Nice to meet you, Chad.
A: Nice to meet you too.

◆ Where are you from?◆

A: Nice to meet you, Sergio. So, where are you from?

 B: I’m from Spain.

◆ What do you do?◆

A: What do you do, Cathleen?

B: I work at the university as a financial specialist .

◆ What do you like to do (in your free time)?◆

A: So Cathleen, what do you like to do in your free time?

B: I love to read and to garden. I picked two buckets

  of tomatoes last week!

◆ What’s your phone number?◆
 ”phone number”を”email address”に言い換えることもできます。

It would be great to meet up again sometime. What’s your phone number?

◆Do you have Facebook?◆
 “Are you on Facebook?”と聞いてみてもいいでしょう。

Let’s keep in touch! Do you have Facebook?

”普段から英語をしている”

”基本的なフレーズは知っている”

それだけで大きな力が生まれます。

まるでお守りですよね。

私も、前回上手く英語でコミュニケーションが

取れなかった際に復習をして、

再度また同じ場面が訪れそうに

なったとき、

一瞬は「怖い...」と思いましたが、

「いや、使えるフレーズあるもん」

と思えて、

落ち着いて対応ができます。

きっとあの時そのまま

努力していなかったのなら

また弱腰になっていただけです。

〇Today's challenge

 1~3の内容を日本語で要約してください。

 ※要約|論旨・要点を短くまとめて表すこと。

1.What are prepositions?
Prepositions are words that are used to link a noun or phrase to another part of the sentence. Some examples of prepositions are “on”, “in”, “to” and “at”.

You will find them used in lots of different ways and various contexts. The most common ways to use prepositions include using them to indicate time, the direction or location of an object, or to introduce something – and an individual preposition can be used in more ways than one.

2.How to use a preposition
Let’s take a look at some examples and how they can be used!

“He put the tiles on the wrong wall.”

“She is going to college in September.”

“I’ll meet you at 5.30.”

Prepositions are always used to indicate the relationship of a noun or phrase to something else. When using a preposition, you must always have the subject and verb before it, and follow it with a noun. You should never follow it with a verb!

3.The best way to get familiar with prepositions

Prepositions are used in a variety of ways, and the best way to get familiar with them is by looking out for them whenever you read. So read as much as possible, and see if you can highlight prepositions when you come across them.

A useful exercise to do is pointing out the prepositions found in a sentence, and describing the context they are used in. Are they showing time, location, position or something else?
